summer 2015 is gone - boo hoo

TYLER POOL is closed until next May.  Always hate to do this chore.  It just means it's getting cold.

Oh well, there is always next summer to look forward to when Claire will be approaching two and will enjoy being in the pool a lot more.  Whitney could stay in all day if we let her.

W's IN KINDERGARDEN

Only 13 more years before college.

Her kindergarten (in Allen, Texas) starts out the first two weeks of school with each kindergartener having a 6th grade buddy.  The buddy shows them the ropes as in where to go, what to do in the lunch room etc.  This is W with her 6th grade buddy.
This was hat day at her school.. Not sure if the upper grades participated though.  I think I bought that hat for her.  It never did fit right but she loved the color.
I really wish I could go see her classroom someday.
Kristie:  it's scary how we're seeing Little Lauren appear.  Unlike Lauren there is not a shy bone in W's body.  She likes to be the leader, center of attention and always the actress.

FYI:  Since Mom leaves for work around 7, Dad walks her to school every morning (short walk).
After school (2:45)a daycare bus picks up at the school for the daycare center near the school.  Mom usually picks up W after she has picked up C at her daycare (4:30).  Long day for all.

HALLOWEEN PILLOW

Made a Halloween pillow for my bunko friend, Karen. She has bunko at her house this month and she LOVES to decorate for Halloween.   So much fun.  I saw this pattern which also will work for Christmas and 4th of July and had to try it.  Turned out really cute, if I say so myself.

HALLOWEEN COSTUMES FOR THE DOLLS

L's goddaughters are 9 and 7.  One has the American Girl Doll and the other has the Bitty Baby from the same company.  This year I am sending them different Halloween costumes for their dolls.  Can't wear the same costume two years in a  row.  Absolutely  not.  So I made the clown costumes.  Notice the clown-sized red shoes.  What a hoot.
I made this costume for W's Bitty Baby.  She wants a mermaid costume for her doll.  Hope I can get it done in time.  She told me, "green on the bottom and purple for the booties".
These were really fun to make.  I'd like to make some more but don't have the extra time right now.

BEING THE GOALIE

Last week she had her first goal and called me while I was in a sewing class.  So cute.  She's not really a great athlete but she tries.  Drama queen playing sports.  Interesting.
You have to admit she looks very attentive though.  As a lover of costumes, she loves her uniform.

Henry's Quilt

Finally finished.  L is going to Denver to visit with Henry's family for the weekend and is taking the quilt with her.  Henry's nursery is ivory and taupe.  I just love this monkey but next time I use it it will be bigger.  The quilter did the quilting in banana bunches.  So incredibly cute.  Am taking a break from quilts to start on some Christmas projects.  Fall clothes for the girls also in the works.

Family Photo - July 23, 2015

We took W to her  all time fav restaurant for dinner.  The wait staff dress up like characters.  Not a fun adult place:  kids running around trying to get autographs of the characters, noisy, and not great food.  It's adequate but too pricey.  Actually saw some adults in there without kids - sure did wonder why.

Artist at restaurant who does caricatures - black and white for $5 and color for $10.  Of course she wore her new costume to the restaurant and got a kick out of people calling her Ana.  One even asked her why she shrunk.  She thought that person was so silly.  She said, "doesn't he know it's just a costume?".
